The Realm Player List
By RGCV, with help from members and staff. It is mostly complete, but there might be missing information (inform me or staff).
It will (if possible) be updated accordingly
LINK TO IT HERE!
Hi guys! Welcome newcomers, hello old timers and "hey deh" to all of you.
I'd just like to write a thread to inform everyone that I've been gathering players' information (using this incredibly wonderful tool called the interwebs) and compiling it all in one place for.. Well, not even I am sure what it's for. I'm guessing it's a good thing to keep information all in one place, but that's just my opinion. Originally inspired by Rob's UHC spreadsheet, I decided to dedicate some of my time into putting a player list together, going back to the first Realm of Silence, and from there, build all the way up to now.
Moving on, a link to the spreadsheet can be found here, on yours truly's OneDrive, available for viewing. An editing link will be provided to trusted staff members if I can't modify the spreadsheet directly. If I end up noticing any tampering with the spreadsheet, I'll always end up having a backup locally, allowing for me to recover its most recent and correct state.
The spreadsheet contains the following information (and some added commentary on said content):
- UUID: The player's Universally Unique Identifier (that's what it stands for). Doesn't require much explanation, it's a way Mojang now uses, as of 1.8 snapshots (if I'm not mistaked, can be found under the 14w10a changelog), to identify players instead of using their username. Useful for name changing, as some might already know. That's how they made it work.
- Username: The player's username. Hopefully, it'll always be the current one. It has to be updated manually, unfortunately. I'm sure there might be a way of using macros and pulling the data, which could work for the Aliases entry (see below) on the table (fetching previous names the user went by). If anyone knows good VB and can come up with a macro to fetch information from a Json file, hook me up with the knowledge.
- Gender: The player's gender, fetched from the application and/or forum profile. Could be Male, Female or Other (suggestions are welcome.. wise ones, preferably).
- Date of Birth: The player's date of birth. Useful to track a player's age, I suppose, if need be. Anniversaries and all the such. It's nothing much, if it is in the spreadsheet it means the player somehow, indirectly, provided it. It's online! (forum profile + application = when you were born, that easy, don't be to alarmed.. I suppose, it's out) Sure, it can be fake, to which I reply with "I don't really care", people can supply correct information if they want. If not? We'll stick with the lie.
- Age: The player's current age. A simple formula that calculates the player's age, supposedly (again, assuming it's a true date of birth), based on.. well.. when he/she/it was born and the current date.
- Aliases: A (hidden) list of names the player might go by which may sometimes include his real name or not, depending on the case. The name displayed is usually the more common alias, although a table with others is stored inside the file. You would need an edit link to check for other names (it edits the spreadsheet itself, has to be put back manually, lot of hassle).
- Location: The player's location, be it current, most frequent or birth one. Usually (99.9% of the time) the one where you are matches with the one you were born with, although there's an odd chance of being the current non-birth location.
- Date of Admission: Corresponds to the date the player first registered in the Realm's forums. Yes, whitelist application date could be more accurate. However, being a somewhat diverse community, we don't stick to Minecraft at all times. It is a main link, but other we're also fond of other games. You might register one day, interact with us and only get whitelisted.. a month after, for example.
- Role: Describes, in one word, the player's general role (a bit more Minecraft centered now). The player can don 1 of 4 roles: Founder (exclusive), Administrator, Moderator or Member.
- Status: Describes the player's status overall (ingame, forums, skype, other activities). The player can be attributed 1 of 4 status: Active, Inactive, Missing or Banned.
- UHC Information: Three additional columns which record the player's UHC wins. It accounts for individual, co-operative and total wins.
Note: Regarding the last bullet point, another member of the community, Rob, a.k.a. MC_Spartan_117 or other similar nicknames, gathers UHC specific information. A bit more detailed with the teams, wins, losses, ratios, rankings, etc. Ask him for that, I'm sure he'll be glad to willingly share what he has with you.
Alright, that's it for me. Feel free to ask me any questions or to complain about this still ongoing project. I thought it was a good idea and I was feeling like tinkering around with Excel and make something useful out of it, tell me what you think.
With my best regards,
- RGCV
