Okay. Well today we've had two assaults. Both went in the defenders' favour.
A LOT of people have been saying that the defenders are too overpowered. This is true. I do not believe it's because of the diamond armour though. I think it is due to respawns. So here is my idea:
Respawns
"Once defenders are killed they may not regear and participate anymore in the Assault."
This was originally in the rules but got taken out due to complaints. I suggest that this rule be reinstated. Take the first assault for example. Quadrant I had killed everyone on Quadrant II. The problem was that Quadrant II respawned whilst PvP was still going on, picked up the items and was still attacking. This made Quadrant I lose. This is technically just infinite respawning and does not seem fair for the attackers. I'm not trying to blame anyone for this, I just think that this rule should be in place again.
Another suggestion is to have a 'cooldown' period. This would mean that if the attacking Quadrant kills a defending Quadrant member, they have to wait and not aid in PvP, collecting items, distracting etc. for a time period between one minute to five minutes. This would give the attacking Quadrant a chance to actually finish PvP, recover health and organise themselves without being interrupted by a constant stream of respawned players attacking with dropped items, fists etc.
Items
I do not think that the items should be changed. The diamond armour that the defending Quadrant has is fairly overpowered, but that just makes the assaulting vary more, rather than just attacking straight on. I think enchanting is the problem. Which leads to...
Enchantments
I think that the enchantments should be managed and categorised into 'offensive' and 'defensive' enchantments. This would give both the offensive and defensive teams different types of enchantments to use whilst hopefully maintaining balance PvP-wise.
For example:
Please state your opinion on these ideas and any others you can think of. Take into account this is nothing but a suggestion and nothing said here is official unless it is in the official Quadrant thread.
