Actually I moved the spawn point a few blocks so it was right on the glowstone in the center of where people spawn. All you have to do is widen it and rebuild the top section so players don't spawn 50 blocks up on the roof of the build.

I think when the next new map does come out we should just have 1 main farm for each non-hostile mob so as to reduce lag, also possibly thoughts of cleaning up the current whitelist before opening it up to more people have been shared This mentality is the problem I think. We reset the map once every few months so that it has become an expected event that we all get together for, do our exploring, then slowly we lose numbers. There is no map history, no meaning to the big builds on the maps. People would prefer to play Survival Single Player because their builds stay. Add in that our activity is quite low, and nobody lives in communities, it even feels like playing survival single player. The difference is that in SSP your map doesn't reset every 3ish months, ruining all your progress. I know that my most active time was when I lived at Northern Star with Dray, Conor, 4everless, Lady, Connor and many many others, at one time having over 10 members of the town, but none of our veteran players build together so we lose interest quickly because most of us joined the SMP to play with other people, not to play an SSP. Not to mention that usually it is the non-active players requesting a new map. It is frustrating for the active players to have all their stuff wiped out by a majority that hasn't invested time onto the map.
