Well...Since most new players not being active/quitting/being banned we're kind of at square 1 again (still much better than post-Quadrant hype.) Just incase people think the activity isn't too bad: Start of map: 28th August - 31st August: The first graph has a peak of 14 players on at once over a few days. The second one has a peak of 3. Obviously whenever we have a new map the activity surges, plus it was summer holidays/vacation for a lot of people. But this is pretty bad. So I'm suggesting that we just open up the applications again. I'd like to change the application form so that it's more diverse with each application, but ideas would help. Anyways, vote and post your thoughts below regarding any ideas to help activity and other similar issues.

I have a feeling the amount of crashes and the lag on the server deterred a lot of new players eventually (judging by the amount of complaints I had.) Most people know/suspect what the main source of the lag was so I won't bother going into it. But it just gives me the idea that we should have a tighter control on major things that cause lag...Thoughts?

I think when the next new map does come out we should just have 1 main farm for each non-hostile mob so as to reduce lag, also possibly thoughts of cleaning up the current whitelist before opening it up to more people have been shared

I feel like application should be more geared for the people who would fit our server. For example someone who only builds large farms at spawn, or someone who plays only on griefing server, or someone who doesnt like others seeing their base, or etc. would not fit our server.
Also possibly not allow permanent bases like Rood's and Anthony's or any large farms in the spawn chunks.
I really think the "spawn town" should not be located in the always loaded spawn chunks cause people are naturally gonna build up the spawn town cause most everybody goes there.

I was talking figuratively about the next map just a reference for the future i would think it will be a couple months away,
I like Jmans ideas, what if we had a spawn area where people spawn in and then have a path to the main central city of the map where shops and the main farms are located and then people can move out and build from there.

I start with a question. what makes the new players want to stay? We play on a low user count server( nothing bad meant by that). So playing with 1-2 people sometimes none can be a touch boring. The server needs to offer something to make people come back Time after time? I.e we need to have shops which need currency not free or for favours which makes people come earn diamonds and then spend them. Or regular reasons to be on like ABBA rules Wednesday's or mini game Friday's or communal build Sunday's? A server needs to be different to single player or what's the point. I don't think you need to go looking for a specific type of new member as long as they pass the vote let them play! P.s Jmann's ideas also get my thumbs up.

I not sure much specifics on the "/worldspawn" command but does it affect the actual loaded spawn chunks? If it doesn't we could just use it to set a new spawn?

Yes, you can use /setworldspawn to change where the loaded spawn chunks are. The old spawn chunks will no longer always be loaded and the new ones will be instead.

Could we not just redesign spawn? I know it'd take some work, but at least we'd have something to do.
