That's a rhetorical question; the obvious answer being implied, of course, is "no".
My name's Lennart, I'm an 18 year old Dutchman studying Graphic Design in Amsterdam. I use a lot of different aliases, all tied to different things I will direct you to!
I only recently got back into Minecraft; whilst watching VintageBeef play through the first episode of TellTale's new Minecraft Story Mode game, I got a massive craving to pick up SMP on a server with a group of people again. The community I was an admin of for the last year or so relied heavily on modpacks as well as the use of server plugins to prevent griefing and such, which, with Bukkit closing down, fell to pieces. As such, I went to the first place anyone would go to find information these days: Reddit. I went to /r/mcservers, and the top post happened to be for RoS. I decided "why not" and applied. The rest is history. And by history I mean, it happened not even a week ago. Ah, the good old days.
A little bit about my gaming habits:
I'm a complete sucker for (fantasy) RPGs, especially ones that allow a lot of customisation and player input. As such, I've clocked 382 hours into Skyrim (and counting!) as well as 126 into Mount & Blade: Warband! Besides action RPGs, I've been heavily into the Shadowrun games, and remain an active Fifa player, having spent about 800 hours on Fifa 15 and started to dig into Fifa 16. I play on both my PC and my Xbox One, the latter primarily acting as my Fifa machine!
You can find (and add) me on Steam as Skullwick, here!
You can also find me on XBL as EmpireSquared!
As far as my hobbies are concerned, I have too many. I've been playing amateur football since I was about 6 years old, which I'm always pretty passionate about despite the fact that we play in one of the lowest possible tiers! As a Graphic Design student, I think it's fairly self-explanatory that I like to draw a lot. You might also have guessed, from this 20 page essay I'm doing, that I like writing. I've got a collection of shards of fantasy stories that I hope to turn into fully fledged novels one day. Besides my fondness for writing, I read whenever I can. Mostly classical literature (Jules Verne, George Orwell, Jane Austen) but I make exceptions for anything to do with fantasy (LotR, Harry Potter, ASoIaF). I'm a hobbyist photographer (Skullwick on Instagram, if that's your thing) and aspire to make and release a game of my own one day!
With all of that in mind, most of my time is still taken up by music. While I had a lot of stress and was dealing with some issues I picked up my guitar again, and decided that I would just try to play a full song for once. I come from a household of musicians in one sense or another, with a veteran Blues Guitarist, an ex-Rapper, an Ex-DJ and someone who refuses to stop singing in the car, and have dabbled in all of those, though I'm not incredibly skilled at any of them. Obviously, I chose what may literally be the most simple song to ever exist. I recorded the instrumental and then the vocals, and threw it online for the heck of it. I shared it on facebook and, much to my surprise, people seemed to like it quite a bit. It wasn't great, it wasn't anything incredibly unique, but it was something that people didn't expect out of me that I really wanted to do. Immediately afterwards, I got caught in a maelstrom of music writing and production, recording and then sharing six songs, including two that I wrote myself (in a timespan of 5 minutes each, but still). Last week, on the 14th of October, I played live for the first time ever. Besides jamming with some friends, I'd never played in front of people before, but a friend convinced me to play something at an Open Mic night. about 5 minutes before it was my turn to play, I started shivering uncontrollably and sweat started beading across my forehead. I went on stage, sat down with my guitar and made people almost go deaf a few times because of the howling sound created by not being the right distance from the microphone. I lost my rhythm a few times, completely blanked on a little riff and my throat closed up all the way until I was back in my seat. I would've packed my things immediately and walked out the door, if it weren't for a few people individually coming up to me and telling me I did well despite the obvious nerves. I was convinced by one of the people in charge of the Open Mic Night to come back the next month and do it again. Despite the fact that it didn't go too well, I still had the urge to do it again- and right, this time. So who knows, I've got 3 weeks to decide if I'm going to let it rest for a bit or go up and at it again!
The majority of the music I make (cover and write) is acoustic, sort of heartfelt stuff that usually lies somewhere in the indie-folk genre. As music is an escape for me, I cover a lot of topics that allow me to vent what I need a getaway from; anxiety, loneliness, heartbreak, depression and some feelings that are so obscure that I don't even know what they're called.
If you want to find my music and give it a listen, I go by the alias Wandering I.
In terms of my music taste, it ranges from old school rap (Wu Tang Clan, Gang Starr, De La Soul) to punk rock (Blink-182, Sum 41, Green Day). Artists in particular I listen to a lot include Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, Nujabes, Eyedea, Aesop Rock, Linkin Park, Rise Against, Gorillaz, Frank Sinatra, Elliott Smith, Grieves, Atmosphere, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Muse, P.O.S., The Killers, Panic At The Disco, Flogging Molly, Journey, Miles Davis, Kansas and Fall Out Boy. A strange array of artists, to say the least.
I'm always up for talking about music, art, history, philosophy, games, movies or anything in between, so feel free to add me anywhere, including skype (which you can find on my profile here). We can play some games, have a chat and generally have a grand time, I hope.
That's my autobiography done and published, although I'll probably look at this in about an hour and realise I should've added much more. Tough luck.
See you around :x
