I got an idea. Maybe each person could have a role for example 1 person could have to job of recon into the enemy quadrant, a few good fighters could be lead attackers, another could stay back and defend base, etc. Each role could have different requirements like recon could be allowed to use potions and golden apples but no armor or weapon stronger than a stone sword, a lead attacker could be allowed any melee weapon but no potions or golden apples or iron/diamond armor, a general could be immune to any deaths by non general players and wouldn't be able to attack non general players, defenders could have any armor and any weapon but cant leave their quadrant If we decide to implement a system where deaths are rewarded to the killing quadrant the recon guy could be worth extra since he would most likely be more difficult to find since they would be trying to hide and stuff. the role deciding would obviously be decided by each quadrant but maybe one role could be required for each quadrant maybe 1 general or 1 recon guy. I was hoping to give ideas that add a bit of strategy so teams don't just gather all members of quadrant then destroy the quadrant it's attacking. just ideas what do you guys think? Although it sounds cool, I think it's a bit too unrealistic. Most people will want to be as geared as possible, and either stick close together for defending, or attacking from all sides. If 2 nations decide to have a battle as such, and assign roles, that may be cool. But I think most people want to dive into battle with their full enchanted *insert highest tier available for team doing action here* with their god bow/sword, instead of a carefully planned, well thought out assault.

I think they aren't bad ideas, but that's going to be per quadrant and per assault team. There is no requirement to Assault teams, they just have to be at least 3 people right now. I think that's just too much to enforce. It sounds like something that would be do-able on a modded server, but we're staying vanilla. Simplicity is the name of the game too, if it gets too complicated it could be confusing and could cause problems.

The reason I bring up mods is because it would be impossible to enforce if teams weren't following proper roles. I think the cooldowns on the Assaults will keep them fun since it wont just be attack after attack after attack. 3 Days before you can attack the same Quadrant, and after a Quadrant has been Assaulted it is against the rules to attack them again within 24 hours. There will be a chest with books as well to report Assault results that will be used as articles in The North Star newspaper. I would like to tally stats for Assaults, like how many occur, how many succeed, how many Assaulters and Defenders were killed, and maybe even how many Diamond items were obtained from corpses. If Quadrants want to have roles for their Assault teams they are allowed but to enforce it is impossible considering admins may not be online during assaults anyways.

I just thought of something, if a creepers blows up the relic or if an invader dies in lava with the relic, what happens? The invader could be forced to pay a small tribute, and maybe the nation whose relic is destroyed by a creeper (or lost by a player of the quadrant) would have to pay a tribute to the other nations to get another relic. I feel like this kinda got forgotten, but you bring up an interesting point Dark. I'm not sure about the whole nation having to pay a tribute to all the others to get a new relic thing, but the idea is worth considering. I do like the idea of whoever destroys the relic having to pay a tribute of some sort.
