With the teams, do the people in a quad have to live close together or anything like that? Just wondering before I go running off too far

No, but each Quadrant needs a capital city, so contributing is the idea. The purpose of Quadrants is for us all to play together more. I believe that a lot of us lose interest because we're just playing SSP on a multiplayer server with a chat room in game.
With the forums, shoutbox, skype, teamspeak, etc, we don't really need to use the in game chat so when we log on it really is like playing single player. I would rather do something else and chat in skype than play solo minecraft so I created this game mode that encourages team work and team building.

In game chat is one of the reasons singleplayer doesnt appeal to me as much as multiplayer. |

During assults is killing animals allowed? For sure not if they are named. Not sure about otherwise, might just be being a dick. I think if you need to kill it for foods it's probably okay, but to eliminate all of their cows is just bad. |

Yeah exactly I could only see it that if you kill some other quadrants farm or animals it would be greifing, if you haven't brought enough food with you that's a lack of preparation, I also would have seen it a stealing resources of another quadrant |

So I wasn't meaning to kill their livestock to keep your hunger meter up.. mostly just killing a stray chicken or pig if you see it wandering around. Obviously if it's fenced in it belongs to someone.
Free range chickens beware!

I just thought of another thing, If a Quad makes their base at 6k,6k isn't it impossible to reach it in 30min from Spawn?
